Queenstown Without a Car

You don't need a car to experience Queenstown, Milford Sound, or the surrounding region. Coach tours, shuttles, ride shares, bikes, and even walking cover almost everything — often better than driving yourself.

The Short Answer

For tours and day trips: book a coach tour that picks you up in Queenstown. They handle transport, guides, and tickets — you just show up. This covers Milford Sound, Wanaka, Glenorchy, ski fields, and wine regions.

For getting around town: Queenstown is walkable. The town centre, lakefront, and most accommodation are within 15 minutes on foot. For the airport, ski fields, or Arrowtown, use shuttles, buses, or ride shares.
