Netflix's July page says the series is in production in Queenstown, but it has not published a list of filming places. Its page opens by mentioning the black diamond slopes of the Remarkables mountain range. That sets the scene and does not say where any scene was shot, so we do not name filming locations here. Experience Queenstown calls The Remarkables and Coronet Peak the setting of the series, without giving evidence, and we do not treat that as confirmed. Netflix has filmed in the region before: Destination Queenstown names Sweet Tooth and The Letter for the King. When Netflix or another official source names a place, we will add it here with the date.

What has happened so far, in date order?

Filming starts, according to Experience Queenstown. Netflix and the Otago Daily Times do not give this date.
- 0216 July 2026, an earthquake
A 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck 40 km north of Te Anau at 9.14pm, the Otago Daily Times reported. RNZ said on 30 July, citing the New Zealand Herald, that the production was shooting on location when they felt a 5.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Te Anau.

Variety Australia reports that production is under way on the eight episode series, naming the first cast. Early on 18 July NZ time, the Otago Daily Times carries Netflix's statement that a release date would be advised in due course.

Variety Australia reports five added cast members on 28 July. Netflix's Tudum page, which prints 28 July but went up early on 29 July NZ time, names nine cast members, the directors and the executive producers.
